I'm currently doing electrical computer engineering, it's... well, I enjoy it, but it is tricky especially in an ordinary university environment at lower levels. The upper division courses are a lot more fun since you have more freedom in what to do. Haven't gotten any internships sadly, hopefully once I graduate I'll be able to get a job but will have to wait and see, so can't speak too much on job availability personally. From what I can see, though, depending on where you live it can be very hard to find an ECE job that isn't military related, unless you're like west coast or something.
