The experience need not be sexual (and usually isn’t), it just needs to involve receiving excess attention/affection from an older female - a babysitter letting you sit in her lap while you play, a teacher holding your shoulders and walking you through a problem after class, an older girl bullying you, an aunt or cousins doting on you, etc. - at the time you consciously think nothing of it, but you’re receiving a very specific attention at a very specific time in your early puberty and it’s gonna come back with some associations later.
Skip ahead 15-20 years and now you know all about sex and you’re not just a dumb kid anymore and part of you looks back on those moments thinking, ‘oh man, they were totally into me (even if they weren’t), I bet I totally could have scored if I’d played my cards right and hadn’t been so dumb about girls (you probably couldn’t)’.
