Japan's government is pushing for people to have families, but the policies they put in place and their behavior in enforcing this stuff is... confusing at best. Recently had a kid out here and when the wife and I asked for time off, she got fired and I had to have meetings with so many government departments and meetings with my boss to 'clear this up'.
