The solution is selfhosting your own music streaming server so you don't need to keep the songs on your other devices but selfhosting can be an involved process.
>its a no brainerOnly if you regularly listen to more than 1000 songs because the only real benefit is the syncing. You left out the negatives too. Like privacy. All your non music activites and behaviour getting logged by Spotify forever and selling it.
If you don't listen to that much music you can just keep all of it on your phone for free. And even if you do listen to that much music it could be worth it to spend a day or two learning how to selfhost it since it would save you $100 a year.
