Stagnation. However, this is the first year they have reversed the trend. They did the first ever street race in Chicago and that was massively popular; I think you will see a lot more of that stuff and less turning left

"NASCAR" wasn't content with its slice of the market. It was an early adopter of "woke".
I used to love Sunday's, lazy as shit, drinking some beer and watching a bunch of guys drive in circles and occasionally crash.
Then came the stupid animations.
The stupid commentators
The pink
the insert special event here.

They tried to saturate every fucking market and by doing so lost its base.

I used to live near Lowes Motor Speedway (at the time). It was a HUGE party when nascar was in town.
These days it just feels like everyone is at the day loan shop with shame because they can't afford anything and those that can know the interest rate is going to kill them.

Bruh it was 120 bucks to see a race back in like 2007, and if you wanted to go see the modified races or other shit, another 70 bucks. Fuckin preposterously expensive. 2008 did a number on that shit. The parties, that's what we went for, the parties. Entire fields of one big party. After 08 tho the numbers just dwindled hard, I think the last year I went was '10 maybe and the lots were like 25% full.
When you get hit in the pocket hard, among the first things to go is expensive entertainment.

I'd usually sit and bullshit for a half hour, 45 min, then go walk around the track for a while, get a mf'n ice cream, go walk around some more, go back to the seats and bullshit for a bit, leave 2/3rds of the way through the race and head back to camp, make sure the fire was going good.

Aussie V8 supercars have been racing on street tracks for years, that is why Van Ginsbergen and Ambrose did so well in NASCAR. Maybe NASCAR should hold an event at Mt Panorama? Honestly i don't think American drivers would want to race on it, it would scare the living shit out of them and 80% of the field would wreck their cars coming out of skyline. An Aussie P Plater driving pic related would beat NASCAR at Bathurst. Better still, get them on Nurburgring Nordschleife. Maybe the viewership is down because there are no good crashes anymore. Maybe one day we will get lucky and see a NASCAR flip the fence and wipe out and entire section of the crowd. That would make me wanna watch.
