I think the blonde hair blue eyed ideal someone fit in with Nietzches philosophy of the ubermensch and the overman. Superman's creation was inspired by these ideas and I guess what I am getting at is that it was almost supposed to be something similar, they thought it would be someone blonde hair and blue eyed though, I wonder about that in particular.
I don't think the science backs up the notion that blonde haired people are somehow more racially pure then everyone else, that seems like grasping at straws to me. I wonder if the nazis just came along and decided that being northwestern European and fairly Nordic was what a white/European person was essentially before immigration or mixing and if that had truth to it.
Similarily though, I was watching the show Vikings, I find Scandinavia somewhat interesting, I was thinking more that I like some of their ideas and culture a bit more then the standard fare that you find, which I feel like is kind of like very British influenced. Europe is pretty complex though, I liked some Spanish things too.
So I wonder how that fits into the whole focus and emphasis on Nordicism.
