sigh the issue is that the built-in keyboard is borked but I managed to install drivers for usb keyboard support
The laptop only has like 120 MB of ram and windows xp eats all of it on idle and has to do a lot of swapping
Originally this laptop was designed for windows me so I guess I'm going to install windows 98
unfortunately this laptop does not support usb keyboards out of the box so I can't really do anything since I don't have a ps2 keybpard

PS2 is an old keyboard/mouse connector and it doesn't have anything to do with the sony console
on old computers like this usb keyboards need drivers and don't work put of the box unlike PS2
