It's why people keep treating the Ivy League as some prestigious Einstein factory when in reality the last things they gave us were Dubyaa and Oblamo, and the entire thing connecting them together is sports which have nothing to do with the educational aspect anyway.
Really, drilling will give you all the regulations and directions an engineer needs to do their job, but the engineer has to be bright to begin with to actually accomplish anything more than being a glorified and/or overqualified mechanic/technician.
