The increasingly violent progress of music enjoyed by the non-mainstream people

First, it was rock.
Then, through metal and its subgenres, the vocals of rock were made into mostly unintelligible grunts, the lyrics became edgier, and the instrumentals became heavier.
Then, rock and metal were ditched for the pure sound of the instruments through Drum n Bass and, in general, electrohouse. It must be noted that electrohouse still had some artists using vocals, but the vocals were used far more sparsely than in rock.
Then, DnB and electrohouse gave way to nightcore, which is defined by its high paced sounding.
Nightcore then gave way to vaporwave, however, only for a short while, because not long after, synthwave came into being. Much like vaporwave is a revival of the last century's music, synthwave is the partial revival of some elements of the last century's music, with mixed heavy and constant beat sections, broken by occasional electronic off-rhytmic sounds. An example of this is Perturbator's musics, though he is not the only one.
Synthwave then gave way to phonk. Phonk is characterized by very high, very fast and very heavy beats, being it pure sound or angry mumbling, with short and repetitive lyrics and, sometimes, cover arts, that glorify violence. What is remarkable of phonk is that it appears to have broken the mainstream bubble and is now also enjoyed by normalniggers.
Of interest might be Wilhelm Schmidt's thesis, which states, in simple terms, the following:
>pacific country
>violent music
>violent country
>pacific music
Can it be said that Schmidt's thesis is correct, or is the popularity of phonk a societal signal that people are pissed off and at the verge of chimping out?
