Attaining the truth is barely a fight against others, who try to deceive us. Attaining the truth is a constant process of self rejection, of fighting the self, especially, the identity, because it is our own arrogance and our own ego that deceives us the most, and makes us persist in sin so much.
You must constantly contemplate the self until all sin in yourself has withered away. And then you will be blessed. Then all the hardships will become light, then you can fullfil your duty, and then you can be proud.
