I just want to know, what was the "best" thing he did that made him famous?

Ive never liked him, but the purpose of this thread is for someone to say, hey look he did this right at the start - and THATS why he got so many subs, because people liked and respected him.

Hes just always seemed like a horrible person to me, but maybe Ive jsut always been out of touch.

Please dont reply to agree with me, just someone tell me something good he did in his early years that would help me to understand where he came from - before his fall from grace.
