Let's assume that viv actually did some research on the big book of jews before doing this shit. In the book, you got three places. Heaven, the pit (Hell), and the earth realm. That's all our book is concerned with.
Naturally, things like angels inhabited heaven, and people and animals inhabited earth. But when you take viv's concept with the idea of the bible's descriptions of the realms, it's clear that hellhounds and imps should live in hell. It makes sense, too. You see the imps and hellhounds having a functioning society, and only the sinners kill each other.
Now, assuming the bible is cannon, satan and his army of angels rebelled against God and got noclipped into hell, where they wouldn't really fuck with the humans who, according to the bible were God's favorite creatures. I don't really think God would have sent the demons (Fallen angels) into a place that was already inhabited, but this is hypothetical vivshit.
So the demons, and sinners who have been deceived by the demons and cheated out of going to heaven enslave the weaker races like the imps and whatnot.
So, hypothetically, the imps and hellhounds and shark things and whatnot were likely created by God to be similar to humans. I think it makes more sense for them to be able go into churches with good intentions, but it's clear that the sinners and demons have corrupted them, so I'd imagine there would be a resistance if they like, wanted to wear a cross upside down in church.
