>>18382042no, overwatch is objectively scum for how recklessly they treat their community, announcing that they were cancelling pve 3 years after they promised it, as it was the main reason for the switch over to ow2, with the whole community disappointed over their collective loss. it was a giant disappointment because fans who wanted to see pve happen were supporting blizzard by buying ingame cosmetics and battlepasses directly to support pve development.
then they suddenly brang it back yesterday with the latest update, charging $15 for pve, something that they promised for free when ow2 originally launched. not only this, but anyone who bought ow1 is now on the same status as a person who downloaded ow2 for free, so they have no access to the new heros for being a legacy player. they have to still pay the $10 to get the battle pass to unlock the new character, or get to lvl. 45 on the battle pass, which takes a total of ~45-55 ish hours to unlock the hero for free.
i still like the game because i never played ow1, it's all a brand new experience to me, but at the same time, i can understand the frustration of the community because blizzard does not see their gaming community eye to eye, but top down as mindless consumers. people get sick of the broken promises and the unfettered greediness of blizzard because they still really care about the game and all the fun times they had, and want to see it done right, but it won't happen if mr. ceo loves his mansion, yacht, and sports cars more than he loves the actual community of gamers that play ow.
