>>18458130this reminds me of some review I once read about LOTR which claimed that Tolkien was "afraid" of women (idk, because he didn't have enough women in his stories, even though there were women who were not just there for fun). In it, the reviewer proceeded to laud other writers like Eddison, the guy who did that Worm Ouroboros book, and More-cock for having the pussies to write "real" and "strong" women. He even states that these women were usually "just as strong as the men, though, in their own way" because they were doing things behind the scenes, egging the men on to commit atrocities, manipulating others, and so on.
But here's the thing-the point, that is. How is Tolkien, who writes honorable, loyal, and honest female characters, including a tomboy who fights a Nazgúl, "afraid of women" whereas the people who write women as if they were all evil, manipulative, and you know, "scary", are not?
Short answer: literary criticism is retarded and baseless.
