Watched that movie for the first time a few months back. Underwhelming, to say the least. What were these shadowy elites even doing that was so controversial? Spooky parties and adult sex origins? Even if they had implied something a little more sinister like human sacrifice, child sex trafficking, or that they were all fucking lizards I would have been more compelled.
Instead my takeaway was that it was all just a metaphor for how fucked up things can get when you're in a sexless marriage and your bonding energies are directed towards random people instead of your partner.
