But if you want a good modern game of the same type, try Baldur's Gate 3.
It's unironcally Game of the Year.
- No microransactions or any hidden fees
- Regular AAA game price
- No need to be online unlessyou're playng multiplayer
- No Pay2Win mechanics
- Hundreds of hours of gameplay garanteed for a single playhrough (I'm at 50 hours and still in act 1, the beggining of the game)
- Insane depth of gamplay mechanics. Some mechanics are so obscure or hidden in plain sight you need people to tell you they exist
- Is based on D&D, so choice matters and directly effects the world and story drastically.
You can also chose or do whatever you want.
- Baldur's Gate 3 is so good and has so much content, the main controversy is that "It sets unreasonable expectations for AAA games and RPGs going forward".
Now, it is turn based combat, not real time.
And if you already like Dungeons and Dragons or Role Play strategy games,, this is he game for you.
The only caution or caveat I would give is that it is addicting as hell.
