I almost never hear atheists expressing their rage at god.
Sometimes they criticize the God of the bible arguing that he is a narcissist, evil, etc. The reason they do this is A: to show there is a contradiction in the bible, saying that an omnibenevolent omnipotent being wouldn't act like the god of the bible. B: To show how his commands mostly served the prophets or the armies of Israel and show how blindly following prophets can lead to bad societal consequences.
Sometimes they could do it for attention by making a strong statement.
