>>18619792All of the stuff about women evolving to like things that enable cuckoldry and exploitation of beta providers etc is valid, but there is another major contribution, this being how the internet has changed the nature of conspicuous consumption and status-signalling.
Boomers signal status by accumulating and displaying material possessions.
Zoomers signal status by accumulating and displaying experiences.
This is because the internet enabled experiences to be photographed, videoed and showcased to the world, transforming them into a vehicle for status-signalling. Before the internet you couldn't show off an experience so people valued the experience itself, rather than the status it could convey. This is why when you see videos of young boomers at concerts they are all moving and having fun, but when you see videos of zoomers at concerts they are all just standing there with their phones out. Going to a concert was something boomers did to unwind. Going to a concert for zoomers is closer to what doing the lawn is for boomers, it's keeping up appearances. It's just that for zoomers, keeping up appearances means having lots of experiences rather than maintaining empty green rectangles.
