>>18679805There's this term on twitter called "ratioing" where someone's tweet (post) gets more comments than likes, indicating that it's an abhorrent post and the person who posted the tweet should be ashamed of themselves.
You can disable comments on your tweet to prevent ratios and the unpopularity of your tweet being obvious (which is what the ADL did). This means the only way to interact with their posts is by either liking the tweet, retweeting (reposting), and "quote tweets" (reposting with a comment from the reposter). With a quote tweet, you add your own comment (in effect a reply), and these quote tweets can get likes. The ADL was getting pseudo-ratioed like this where people would quote tweet the ADL's tweets and get more likes on their quote tweet comment than the ADL's tweet.
Before, you could view the quote tweets by clicking under the post, but twitter removed this functionality for some reason that hasn't been explained. This way, people can make tweets that don't have the same level of community interaction and therefore not be challenged like before. A week or two ago, people were going hard on the ADL with the hashtag #BanTheADL and this has been consistent on every one of their posts since then, and they have had discussions with twitter. So the timing of this change is suspicious.
