i gave up on annihilation and put on the first night manager episode. it's crazy how much good pacing can do for a story. on the one hand you have an extremely interesting larger than life mystery-ridden sci-fi story in annihilation and on the other hand you have an extremely mundane story about arms dealing in a mud people country
and yet because the guy in charge of one of those stories manages to move the plot forward in small increments, have interesting things happen and have new tidbits of information being served to the viewer consistently, it's more fun to watch.
so far in annihilation you have
>a classroom lecture>an invitation to a barbecue>a missing husband>an interracial sex scene>a returned retarded husband>FINALLY SOMETHING COHERENT AND A CLARIFICATION ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON>some office cafeteria gossip>a timeskip>a random freaky gator>a random freaky video>a random freaky corpseat this point i gave up.
