>>18754224Nobody quite understands how this shit is going to go down, with AI song, but I'll try to explain. I've got a background in both compsci, and music, so you know it's coming from a decent source.
Long story short, if you thought taylor swift abusing the emotions of young women to make money using her music was bad, you aren't even kind of prepared for what's going to happed.
Music can be reduced to numbers in a base-12 system, and an algorithm was created to create music. All musicians know it, because a musician NEEDS to have that 'programmed' into them, by listening to enough music. I don't think you're a musician until you can hear a chord progressing in your head.
Do you know what happens when you take an AI and train it on the best music humans ever made, vocals, guitar, drums, the whole thing, and then give it the ability to write it's own using an algorithm?
Say you do this to an AI and have it churn out 100 songs. It make take the AI a day to do this, assuming you are using a powerful computer. One of them is guaranteed to be a hit, assuming you've trained it correctly.
Now, when one record company does this if they make ANY money from it at all (and they will because zoom zooms have no taste in music. They literally do not understand "SOUL" in music.) other record companies will copy it.
The next thing you know, all record companies fire their artists, human artists, that is. And they replace them with AI bullshit because the AI doesn't need a salary, just a computer and power.
Do you think taylor swift's producers care about the music? No, they go 'this will make money' and it does. They would replace her if they could.
Finally, this is the 'end of times' music. The AI model will collapse on itself. People will start to train AI algorithms on the greatest AI produced songs. This will cause all the songs to sound alike (Similar to how pop music is, but far, far worse) When all the songs sound alike, 1/2
