Step 1: Accept that you're obsessed.
This sounds easy, but it can be very hard. Personally, it took me a while to accept it because I was disguising obsession with love.
Step 2: Take responsibility for your obsession. At the end, it's your time and energy that your spending. It's your choice on what to focus.
Step 3: Ask yourself some questions like:
Is this how I want to live my life?
Does this behavior align with my values?
What outcome I'm expecting to have out of this?
Try some inspirational books or podcast. I can recommend you The Minimalists.
Step 4: Realize that you are NOT your obssesion. Stop identifying with it. Stop identifying with your thoughts, because you are not them. To achieve this you can try out:
Meditation. Lowers your anxiety and gives you space between you and your thoughts. Separate yourself from the obsession.
Read a book about it. I recommend you reading something of Eckhart Tolle.
Step 5: TAKE ACTION. No matter how hard it is.
Eliminate contact, delete social media or any other type of source where you can find this person. Think about some strategies to prevent yourself from contacting him/her.
Distract yourself. Start a new class, cultivate a passion, make a new good habit, go travel, meet new people.
Keep reminding to yourself why you don't want this kind of living anymore.
Hope that something on here can help you :)
