Chris Chan definitely wasn't a GATE child because he was non-verbal until he was almost 10 and a big selection criteria for GATE is higher than average literacy and verbal reasoning for children aged 5-10.
Realistically I think he's just autistic, raised by useless parents and 1980s attitudes and understanding of developmental disorders.
That said I wouldn't be surprised if his dad was a Mason, but they're separate from glowies: intelligence agencies really don't trust the masons and vice versa, most agencies bar members of any secret society from employment, it's really only the FBI that let them in out of the major agencies.
I had a drunken theory a year back on /x/ that Sonichu was an emanation of Hecate as there's a lot of overlap between her sphere and Chris Chan, but I don't remember the details. My granddad was a mason and had a book on ancient gods, the spheres they operated in, and their equivalents in other cultures, basically mapping the same entities into every religion throughout history where the only real difference is their names. Sonichu, Chris Chan's description of Sonichu (particularly when Chris Chan said Sonichu literally physically manifested and threatened Chris), and the spiritual/CWCville lore mechanisms that Sonichu "uses" literally map 1-2-1 onto the descriptions of Hecate and Hecate's manifestations.
