This entire era seems to be devoid of memes. A lot of new memes are mostly rehashes of those that have been around since 2013, besides maybe some new slang added in.
Not many people seem to be generating memes that stick. or thoe that do are quite different.
Remember that memes aren't just image macros with text over them.
