Internet became a fucking antithesis of what it used to be.
It's basically like the hobby life cycle. If you don't gatekeep everything, things inevitably deteriorate to shit.
Unfortunately this has happened on a internet and society wide scale to a point the only refuge where you can build a space for escape, is pretty much having a password protected chat room.
What sucks about that is that the lack of new blood inevitably leads to the spaces dying out, and having maybe one or two guys who try to keep things going and it just doesn't work.
Every now and then this place manages to capture the old magic with some comfy generals that are populated by people from the ages past who can still hold a normal conversation.
I really wish for the total destruction of twitter and all other mass sites, even including this one.
It would force things to splinter up once again, creating more different little spaces too boring for the average person, instead of these fucking behemoth sites full of knuckle dragging dumbfucks.
