I really think this game can fit most of your needs.
If you're prefer building machinery and complicated stuff then there's redstone. If you wanna build houses then well there are many b locks to choose from.
If you're more of a fighter there are a lot of servers dedicated to that, with even special mods added to increase the fun.
Though I have to admit my favorite was Factions. Since it consisted of almost all of Minecraft's playstyles in one simple plugin. You have to build machinery, farms, learn how to create an impenetrable base, learn how to figure out how to raid others, when to do it, who to trust and what not. Which brings me to this, this game gets WAY more fun with friends. I don't like the recent updates, this game used to be way better imo. I loved it so much that whenever I hear the soundtracks I get feels and memories of how fun it was.
It made my childhood, so I give it an 11/10.
