We do have walkable towns, they have cobbled roads, outdoor cafes, shops, large central recreation areas.
you just dont see them posted because they are actually the size of Euro cities and not impressive like a 32 mile wide city which is what Americans think of when they think "city".
We do not think of your 50,000 person village, we think of a 3 million person hive.
