Let me explain myself:
Why did so many people flock to vidya, to comics and anime subcultures, to hacking and idiosyncratic nerdy project development like hacking game console circuit boards since the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and even this decade?
Why did they hang out on BBS's, Usenet, IRC and later sites like old PHP forums and 2ch and now 4chan?
Because they were trying to escape a dominant culture that would not let them fit in by virtue of being an oddity. Be it glasses, an odd accent, some weird tastes in music, whatever.
We were the progenitors of Spandrell's original coalition of the fringes on the Internet, and now we are its unwanted children, by virtue of being deliberately too weird to monetize.
If you can't recognize or remember that you are part of a group of people once hated and picked on for not conforming to dominant society, you don't belong here.
I am here to promote this consciousness and membership in a society that will fight for the liberty and victory of people like me who are considered walking bags of fertilizer by the people currently in power.
