The AR platform is a receiver with two modular tubes covered in rails, and represents a clear and obvious evolution towards minimalist, no frills platforms with the modularity to stick whatever toys on you need, and militaries around the world instead decided on more complicated, less modular, mostly untested weapon systems because they look futuristic and they performed well in peacetime trials. Stateside manufacture shouldn't be less complicated than applied logistics in wartime, but instead everyone just buys gear and expects to make it work under duress.
Arms developers literally build firearms for aeshetics, I hate clown world so much.
It's 2023 and no one has a barebones weapons system with transferable barrels and recievers to make capturing enemy munitions actually useful, why live?
