Like lightning I saw from heavens fell
And heard it ringing as a bell
crash through the earth
straight into hell
those great stars, oh how they fell!

They fell like drips of sulfur rain
When unyoked from their fixed restain
and like black clouds they carried forth
for when they broke from heavens chains
they fell like floods, damned drips of rain

they were as jewels fixed to a crown
placed up upon a lofty brow
and so they left from that great crest
and tumbled down from everest
and they did bow as a crumbling mound
and thrashed as stone unto the ground
