physiognomy (looks, genes) strongly correlates with psychology and environment.
If you look at someone's face or even a different part of their body or observe their behavior for a really short moment you can instantly tell a lot about their personality and environment. Your brain does that subconsciously but if you have good enough pattern recognition and basic understanding of this you can understand it and measure it. Anecdotical evidence is extremely valuable and useful because your brain basically has the ability to do that built-in so even though it's hard to measure on small-medium sample size you can actually learn a lot by just observing people by yourself, but one of the flaws of this is that you are inherently biased depending on your environment that's why observing people and gathering data that would normally never be available for you and especially the edge-cases is really valuable. If I just went to watch porn i would only observe a small subset of all females.
second thing, having watched as much porn as an average male watches (fucking ridiculous amounts, ask anyone) at some point people just start to look for and get attracted to obscure and very specific things, and this is true for both men and women. and suggesting that attraction has nothing to do with a person is ridiculous, frankly.
but you will NEVER understand it because women lack the innate curiosity a man has. I wonder what it would actually be like to stick my tongue to a metal thing when it's -20C outside, i wonder if i can climb that tree, i wonder how far can i throw my cat, i wonder if i can take off these doors, i wonder if i can jump out of that window, i wonder if i can do a backflip, i wonder if i can stack 5 desks on top of each other. if you don't ask yourself this type of question you will never understand
