>>18974071The big bang isn't a theory about the origin of the universe. The universe already existed as a singularity before the big bang. The big bang is a theory about how the universe moved from one state to another. All it says is that the universe was very small at one point and has been expanding ever since. We can see that the universe was very different than how it is now by looking at far away objects on the telescope (as long as you assume the speed of light is constant and the physical laws are universal).
I don't know how the universe came to be. That does not give me license to make up unfalsifiable stories about how it was created. I'm pretty sure Buddhists don't have a creation story either.
> It was made by a Cristian That doesn't matter. Who cares who said what?
> It was criticized by atheist scientistsDoesn't matter either, plate tectonics was criticized by scientists but eventually accepted. Usually what happens is we get more evidence, or the alternative theories are shown to be false in light of evidence. The big bang theory has nothing to do with atheism or Christianity. Neither does evolution.
If the big bang theory isn't true, then it wouldn't shake my entire world view, nor would change anything about how I live my life.
