They actually something akin to demons, but the kind the normalniggers always reference is not only completely out of touch with recorded history on these subjects, it's clear that the only source they're familiar with is a deprecated, upside down worldview that's clearly out of alignment with known precedent.
To explain, if you study what Plato wrote about, if you follow that line of inquiry through the Mysteries, through the Gnostics, into Neoplatonism and through the Middle Ages into the more modern Occult/Mysticism world, you find that "daemons" or "daimons" are not at all "evil" necessarily. When our ancestors referenced overzealous, cold or impatient versions, they explicitly called them "evil daemons" to distinguish that the word by itself is devoid of context dealing with dualistic natures.
This idea was firmly iterated due to the likes of all sorts of mystics for the last thousand or two years; many people have written grimoires on this subject and goetia has been a very common Occult topic for quite a long time. Egyptians used to use a similar magick to procure casual, daily benefits. Most of it was about getting pregnant, getting someone to fall in love with you or whatever else in that vein, but things really got interesting with Dee, who more or less invented Enochian Magick, where he would scry and meat said daemons, cataloguing their temperaments, "callsigns", sigils and more.
