Trannyfarms is a cancerous website because it holds itself out to be a place of legitimate free discussion of interesting topics, while simultaneously holding the overall theme that people who get uppity and say things that the average person doesn't completely agree with are "lowcows" and are mentally ill and should be mocked by everyone. The end result is that you end up in discussions of complicated topics and all of these terminally online ideologues say dumb and aggressive shit that baits you into getting a bit testy with them, which gives them grounds to announce that you're a "lolcow" (or some related category: fedoratipper, etc.) and they get their whole groupchat to come over and downvote your post (because that's a thing there) and spam out of context quotes of what you said on other threads.
The end result is that it's actually an incredibly conformist culture where people walk on egg shells with each other.
