so large needles are thicker and that's why they hurt on penetration, but once they pierce whatever they need to pierce they generally don't poke into the flesh, they kinda just sit still in your vein or muscle
the thin needles are fucky fucky, yes they hurt less on penetration since they are much smaller, not to mention that once they pierce the skin their tip becomes jagged because the metal is really thin and can't handle something as hard as skin, the needle also dance in the nurses hand until she or doctor pull it out which just pokes your tissue left and right, and since it got jagged after penetration it burns like a barbed wire when they pull it out
I like to watch my skin get pierced becauze it reminds me that my triple checking emails before I send them is because I'm a social retard not becuase I can't handle pressure
