Anime has become an integral part of youths' personalities and they can't even grow out of it, they discuss childish cartoons as if it's something academic and intellectual. Same goes to videogames. Imagine if people back then were obsessed with their favorite disney cartoons, children's fairytales and toy soldiers instead of growing up and reading classical literature, learning science or picking up musical instruments.

I think why society is collapsing is because everything now is reduced to passive consumption of flashy overstimulating products aimed at infantiles devoid of imagination.
