For example I used to hang out with a tomboy during middle school, but I was utterly bored with her and it was just her taking the initiative. I told her that and stopped hanging out with her.
Ironically, by high school I fell in love with her, but I was too shy to break the ice again even though we were friends.
We haven't had contact for a year but I am fond of my memories of her still.
