Jesus Christ rejected this, clarified the true spirit of scripture, and universalized it, creating the church, which is the true Israel. The "chosen people" are saved Christians, not ethnic descendants of the pharisees. The word "Jew" is inadequate to navigate these details, which is what a lot of /pol/ theologians get wrong.
