In my culture there are little people who have been reported since before European contact 1492 to the 1700s and to the present.
They are like humans but about a foot to 3 feet tall.
Not deformed but just small.
They can phase out of dimension when seen. They don't really do anything bad, but maybe its because of my native tribal culture to acknowledge them and basically leave them alone.
We can also leave offering of food and tobacco if we are walking in a area that 'feels' like strange presence in the wild places.
When we hunt we leave the heart of the deer stuck on a tree branch as thanks to the natural spirits that inhabit the area.
In old times we could talk with the animals and spirits including the little people.
You might only get a quick side glance of one. But some who were close to death can see them better. They are like little saints guarding the nature places. Good luck in hunting or gathering plants and such.
