>>19119057in my opinion it is not hard to learn at all but i recommend doing a singleplayer playthough on earth to learn it before playing multiplayer because people join multiplayer on space engineers and turn into sociopaths for some reason. the tutorial mission they made is AIDS but i did it after already learning most of what it said
it is mostly building ships or stations or drones and a lot of the gameplay is mining and experimenting with what works. i think my fav moment in the entire thing was finally building something to leave earth for the first time
you are at very little risk of dying even in space because the suit is extremely, ridiculously overpowered and i think you got 5 minutes before you suffocate, maybe less for suit power running out. on earth the temperature is nice and it has oxygen so you can last much longer, dying doesnt matter much because you can come back instantly if you have a powered spawn block (survival kit or medbay)
i dont think its hard to learn overall and the autism actually starts when you try to make special ships for yourself instead of just purely functional things
i dont recommend ever using wheels on anything and just skipping those because its hard to maneuver a drill with them and they are trash basically. for designs for miners you can steal blueprints or just look at the default ones on the planet maps the game comes with. i got 1000 hours so i recommend it but especially for online play
