Much like someone playing minecraft who doesn't know their character isn't isn't a game. If you could pull them out of the game, they would see that the simulation answering all the questions, and the observer choosing choices and causing waves in the 57 dimensional pool share nothing in common.
If I turned off the universe, you would remain. The universe needs to be on for you to die. Like a player in a game has to have the game to be on, in order for you to take damage and then die.
No dying is happening in the real you. You just break your connection, and the universe has to be on for that connection to break.
