>>19129397>Who do you buddhismmaxx for?Myself and those who are spiritually mature enough to embrace the Dharma. I know modern buddhists will say active exposure of the doctrines is a no no but when I look at the state of people who have erroneous views of buddhism it brings back to mind that the Ashokan religious campaigns should be somebody else's source of inspiration in the world.
>Also you are freeing yourself from suffering sure, but you're freeing yourself from happiness too. Even if there was truth to buddhism, I don't understand why you'd do this to yourself.Conventional happiness is a transient condition that precedes boredom and suffering. The happiness and quietude that comes with the stages of awakening or even simple meditation is unparalleled by impermanent conditions.
>I wanted you to tell me in your own belief and words what Jesus did that was using his supernatural powers to just "show off"He used his miraculous skills to convince others that he was the son of God. Meanwhile the Buddha used logical discourses to carry his message across. The former is often typical of abrahamic traditions which tend to rely more on faith through the perception of supernatural events rather than faith through one's critical thought. By the way, faith is required to attain nibbana, but not in the christian sense. It's a kind of faith that is proven by practice and examining the teachings of the Buddha, a faith into the validity of his teachings and the possibility of reaching nibbana rather than faith in a God.

>>19129400Buddhism follows the Middle Way, both nihilism and eternalism are denied by the Buddha. If you're talking about the "life is suffering" reductive view of buddhism then I have to remind you that buddhist coutnries are staunchly against abortion. Birth comes with suffering, alright, but also with a chance of enlightenment.
