Neon Genesis Evangelion and LoGH are probably the two greatest anime ever created. Along with the usual ilk, they get recommended here all the time-- Moreso the latter than the former, these days. Watch those two first. If you've already seen them, or you're just looking for something "different" that doesn't ever get mentioned for its quality online, here are some great recommendations.
>Princess Lover!
I never see this one recommended here, and I have no clue why. This is a high-school setting SOL anime, wherein the villains of the story are a syndicate of terrorists, which itself is made up entirely of poorfaggot anti-wealth activists. Not only are they poor because they are evil, **they are also evil because they are poor.** The moral of the story is that anti-wealth activism is an entirely un-nuanced position, predominantly fueled by violent envy, and that it happens because the poor are mostly assholes. There's an additional message in that elegance is a choice that one makes, regardless of background, but this is mostly subverted by the above. Short anime at 12 or 13 eps, with a hentai OVA where one of the bitches gets pissed on.
>「C」 THE MONEY OF SOUL AND POSSIBILITY CONTROL
College-setting battle anime from the early 2010's. The anime is allegorical, and contains a high-level discussion about how the printing of money is fundamentally tantamount to the selling of human futures (in the physical, rather than the financial sense.) This is arguably one of the most prophetic anime ever made. I rate it almost as highly as MGS2/3, in terms of just how ahead of its time it was. This is another short anime at 11 or 12 eps, with a visual novel for the completionist.
>Angel Cop
It's an 80's-era OVA about Jews trying to ruin the world. 'Nuff said. You'll need to find the uncensored version, though.
