Not much these days. Our government are unbelievably corrupt and we have almost no rights. They interfere with every single industry and every single aspect of our day to day lives. To the point where australian citizens no longer want to work in professions like Doctors anymore coz the government kneecaps them non stop. The government won't even let police arrest aboriginal people because it's deemed as "racist" so we now have a skyrocketing crime problem coz the little cunts know they can literally walk into white people's houses, take their car keys and steal their car, and the whites are not allowed to defend themselves at all (this isn't bullshit, this is happening right now in Townsville up north)
The cost of living is absolutely insane. The weather is mostly shite. China owns all of our real estate in the bigger cities and they discriminate against white people.

We used to shoot kangaroos for dog meat and because they trample crops/fuck up fences etc. They can be a real nuisance. One time we accidentally killed a doe with a joey in the pouch so we picked it up and gave it to family friends who raised it a pet.

So yes, many people have them as pets. They can be cunts though and when they get to big you have to cut them loose since they can also be dangerous. Big claws and a very powerful kick.

As for the country itself, it's kid of strange.
The ideals and standards that people had 40 years ago were fairly solid and reasonable for the most part, but have been gradually corroded by internationalist egalitarianism and liberalism. Geo-politically were stuck in-between China and the US since our nominal political loyalty is derived from our political and military connection to typical western democratic alliances, but our economic situation is heavily influenced by our proximity to, and reliance upon Asia. This dichotomy is becoming increasingly obvious in terms of policy and demographics.

Socially and ideologically the country has been steadily degrading over the generations. There's a massive tendency here to conform unquestioningly and unresistingly to any rule or law that is proposed and this ideological passivity has allowed the gradual and incremental degeneration of any worthwhile and distinct national identity which might otherwise serve as a rallying point for the sentiments that most people secretly harbour despite their outward obedience. Unfortunately a persons' identity is now largely formed by their consumer habits and material possessions and it is difficult to lure people away from the almost hypnotic sense of false security that obedient and "safe" compliance with consumer culture and the entrenched debt system offers.

Despite all of this most people are approachable and friendly if you present yourself well and avoid controversial subjects. However, I have noticed an increasing apathy to the plight of others that was not present when I was young. For example, if your car broke down at an intersection in town, someone would always, immediately get out of their car and offer some kind of help. It also used to be typical for families to be aware of other people outside of their own home and to engage with them in more open and gregarious community activities. For too many people now. The casual altruism of the past is dying.
