Would crime decrease if we replaced the current means of administering the death penalty with more medieval styled punishments? i.e. breaking on the wheel, beheading with swords or axes, drawing and quartering, etc.

Being sedated and given pain killers before having your heart stopped doesn't really sound like much of a punishment desu
