Yes, but that is not enough. You need to practice proportional design and apply it to something bigger than a column or an entablature. You must be able to design an entire building starting from a single measure. All the details (the height of the floors, position of windows etc.) must be found using only proportions without measures. That was done in the beaux arts schools and it is totally forbidden today.

Look up the Italian sculptor Jago, OP. There are a few modern day masters keeping the practices alive but as anons said, there isn't much demand for it.
Actually Jago was commissioned by the Vatican to make a sculpture of the pope, but they wouldn't let him do it without eyes or something, and so he refused.
There's also a modern day master painter, I can't remember his name but he did a painting called

Well yes and no. All the big studios are cutting back. Unity just laid off something like 800 people They made a costly aquistion that they couldn't afford. And look at Rythm and Hues; the night their artists stepped up to collect their academy award for Life of Pi they all got laid off as the owner of the company simply decided he was too old to continue and just shut down the entire operation. Even when employed you had top artists living in a shit motel room eating off a hot plate. Horrible. Those artists really got their asses screwed. They were forced to sell their houses in the USA, move to Vancouver to buy a house and settle their families in new digs and then a few months later the entire company shut its doors forever.

I think movies are finished. They sure are shitty anyway. Unwatchable trash.

On the other hand the digital stuff brought back a need for skilled anatomists...
I'd like to drop $6500 on tuition for a month of this training...sort of mulling it in my mind.

The thing is that being an artists is a solo gig basically. Yes Bernini had an entire atelier of assistants who were brilliant at what they did. Bernini would sketch out the clay maquette and his crew would turn the maquette into a magnificent cut stone masterpiece. The clean up crew would polish the marble to a fine gloss rubbing the roughly carved marble with the butt ends of straw bundles for ages. But basically you are a loner which is my dream. Working for others is hell. Being a loner is precarious. I am a loner. If you want security get a job with the gubmint. I agonized over what I was going to do with my life in my twenties and decided to swing for the fences. I actually proved I could do it but then money and time ran out, then society changed dramatically in its very fabric. I had to eat the poverty and the defeat and just keep marching forward. The public school system is a total scam. I had the scales fall from my eyes in Grade 10. I had to leave early for an appointment. As I left the art classroom I looked at the art projects left out on the window sill with the names of the students. They were all the same shitty glazed and fired clay ashtrays they had us make in Grade 1. The names were of Grade 12 students; the most clever arrogant kids in the school. Then I went to the bus stop across the street. The severe Downs syndrome kids were being let out early too and were exiting the woodwork shop. Each one had a beautiful laminated wooden fruit bowl cut with a lathe and polished. You'd bay $20 for them in a store. The retards were making more sophisticated products than the richest smartest best looking Grade 12 kids in the school. kek

12 years of expensive art education and they didn't learn how to draw, how to paint or how to scupt. They had no knowledge of animal or human anatomy whatsoever. Total waste of taxpayers money. But then neither did the teachers. But the real scammers were the school board administrators paying themselves $350k a year for this stinking shit excuse for an education.

The issue, always, is that there's not shortcut to that shit.
Just a massive amount of boring repetition and grinding and more grinding at anatomy books and charts.

There's really nothing else to it.
It's boring.
It's lame.

I studied anatomy, poorly.

I think my issue is now to seriously grind that shit.

I need mostly to grind realistic classical styles.
Most of my grind was to learn to draw anime and anime girls.

I mean, I love some anime artists so I focus mostly on learning from master anime illustrators like urushihara over the western styles.
