Problem is getting /fit/ is that gain are slow to start, and fast to lose. Better do 5 Push-up per day and keep doing them the entire year than trying to follow some "super muscle XXL program" that a normal person will follow for 1 or 2 week before giving up.
If you aren't already /fit/, then you don't "like" exercises. So start small, small enough that it's not a bother or too much of a chore to do every day. Sooner or later it will feel too easy, then you can increase the difficulty a bit.
