Is having a choice a path to misery?
The happiest time of my life was when I had all the decisions made for me by my parents. Good, bad, it didn't matter to me because I had no choice and just accepted it as is. I didn't need to worry about whether the right choice was made because I wasn't the one making it. I regretted nothing.
I'm 35 now, have been living on my own for over a decade. I have to deal with the consequences of my own actions. Mistakes I made, poor choices, they are all on me. I think it all fuels my depression and misery.
So yeah, is free choice a path to misery for the majority of people?
