My best friend developed "Schizophrenia" after being hospitalized and drugged and now literally thinks he's Angel/Devil from Chainsaw Man. He also literally believes he can age people with touch and has a flaming sword and dyed his hair red.

Is there any coming back from this for him? This started like 2 years ago and has only gotten progressively worse. He's pushing 30 now too. Keep in mind, he was pretty much normal before his hospitalization. What the fuck do they do to people in these psych wards? Would him stopping his meds bring him back to normal? The meds he's on is called Haloperidol, and is known to cause permanent brain changes. How long can you be on this stuff before the damage is irreversible?
