The majority of people in the U.S., including myself prior to reading this book, are under the false impression that the vast majority of Blacks were lowly, uneducated slaves who solely existed to toil the earth or tend to the slave owners. This book reveals an entire segment of Blacks in American history that have literally been hidden from us. This book is a powerful educational tool and I will definitely incorporate this book into my children's homeschool program!!!
